PII stands for Personally Identifiable Information and is the information used to identify a single person. PII is often protected by privacy laws, like the GDPR as if leaked, it can lead to identity theft, fraud, etc.

Examples of this information include, but are not limited to;

• Full name

• Email address

• Physical address

• Phone number

• Social Security Number (or equivalent)

• Passport number

• Driver's licence number
