Satoshi Test

A Satoshi Test is a process used to confirm ownership of a self-hosted wallet address linked to a VASP customer. To verify ownership, the wallet owner must send a small, predetermined amount of cryptocurrency to the VASP from their address within a set timeframe. Successfully completing the transaction demonstrates that the wallet owner controls the address.

Once the transfer is successful, the wallet owner is reimbursed for the amount sent, though any mining fees incurred will not be refunded. If the transaction fails, the wallet owner can repeat the test, and the VASP will issue a new address and timeframe.

If the transfer is not completed within the allotted time, the proof is deemed invalid.
